ABOUT

Currently, I am a UX Designer at Virtual Dining Co.
I also teach Emerging Technology at Boise State University as Adjunct Faculty.

As an experienced designer and manager, I have built products and solutions for companies in the SaaS and ecommerce industries for over 5 years.

I have coached and mentored incredible teams that believe in building uncompromising experiences. With a comprehensive mix of strategy, design, and presentation skills, I thrive in dynamic, cross-functional groups that ambitiously pursue ideas that shape people's lives and make the internet just a little bit more fun.

I am also extremely passionate about education, professional growth, and supporting startups in their objectives and goals. I have worked with both students and established organizations, teaching them strategies and techniques on pitching their ideas, conducting research, implementing design systems, and positioning themselves to hold a long-term product advantage. Throughout my career, I have worked with several incredible companies such as Kount, J.A. & Kathryn Albertson Foundation, Lone Cone, Ridgeline Insights, The Modern Hotel, Idaho Board of Tourism, Delta Vehicle Systems, and many more.

I spend a lot of my free time traveling and experiencing new places on two wheels. I also pursue other passions and spend much of my free time playing soccer, fly fishing, taking photographs of my adventures, and playing strategy games.

I'm a big fan of oxford commas, flexbox, rock-solid accessibility, and Bayern Munich ⚽🥇.

I am also...
Fan of really small cars. Your developer’s best friend. Owner of a shiba inu. Obsessed with Figma. Believer in people. Expert in Webflow. Football (not American) player. Hobbyist mechanic. Advocate for white space. Rider of motorcycles. Traveller. Strategy game enthusiast. Very, very, very organized. Natural team leader. Front-end native. Hates country music. University teacher. Incredibly good at strategy games. Builder of beautiful websites. Marketer, turned designer.

MrBeast Burger

It all started with free burgers! I am fortunate to be the design lead on the brand new MrBeast Burger web and mobile app. The new app is scheduled to launch Fall 0f 2022, with the fully responsive web experience the following winter.

With a target of about 20 million concurrent users, and worldwide expansion planned for 2023, our team was challenged like never before.

More details to come. Here's a quick preview for now.

Crave Tech

The ultimate story of an ambitious startup. Growth, success, failure, lessons learned, and everything in between.

As part of a fresh team of 3 designers, 20 developers, and various other product positions, we built a number of incredible software solutions to bring multi-brand kitchen solutions to the growing world of ghost-kitchens and on-demand delivery.

In the course of a year, I led the design vision and built out the foundations of the Crave Design System. This fostered the development of a suite of 7 different products ranging from Mobile Apps, Kiosks, Catering Websites, KDS Screens, and Administrative Restaurant Management.

Ricochet POS

I led the entire redesign, rebranding, UX and UI, and marketing efforts during this time. Working with our small team of developers, we built more features, functions, and capabilities into the software in a single year, than the previous five combined. Ricochet is now the most highly reviewed POS in the segment and the first to build an entire POS natively for the iPad. The organization is staged to double its revenue in 2021 and grow beyond that in later years.

PC Part Picker

PC Part Picker is one of the most popular websites in the world for designing and modifying your home PC. With a comprehensive catalog of over 10,000 unique PC components, they have served the gaming and PC building industry for several years. Throughout that time, the service has grown a little stagnant with legacy designs, lack of compelling branding, and failing to adapt to the growth and popularity of the gaming industry. I go through the platform, highlight areas of opportunity, research, design, and mock up the future of PC Part Picker.

Delta Vehicle Systems

Building a seamless ecommerce platform was particularly challenging for Delta Vehicle Systems because of the vast array of products they sell. Their products can ship from either the US or Japan, some ship freight, some require customs agreements, some drop ship from partners, others are manufactured on-demand. It was an incredibly complex and challenging endeavor. The results have this far been extraordinary. With the new website, a revised order system in place, and an overall improved brand, sales have increased an incredible 400% year over year.

Philosophy

The beauty of design is it's always changing. But it's also important to lean on a set of truths.
I've learned a lot about UX over the years, but there are always a few things the remain true.

Your designs are made for developers too.
Feedback is not a criticism of yourself.
Lean on the expertise of others.
Users are rational and know more than you think.
You have the power to make change.
Work hard. Go home.
